-> Medieval Fantasy Map

This map is heavily inspired by a map of Age of Wonders 3 by Triumph Studios. My goal with this project was to try something different from what I'm used to. I was going for a more stylized texturing style and also and kept the polycount much lower than I usually do.

->Asset breakdown

Below is a breakdown of some of the assets I created for this map.

All buildings were created by first making some modular pieces; like this as many variations as required could easily be created.
I also wanted to limited myself to one material per building. Tiling parts were packed in a way that allowed reuse of texture space without having to create additional unnecessary edges. Any additional edge created to support the tiling, also contributed to the overall shape. Going with standard tiling textures would have saved me a bit more texture space, but it would not have allowed to accentuate shapes locally. Considering a lot of texture space is still shared, I found this approach worthwhile.

For the terrain, I created small variations of each texture, these variations are enough to break the tiling, but not so harsh that the terrain becomes to noisy. TerrainTextures
